Molar Mass accuracy

  1. My chemistry textbooks makes the claim:

    Measurements of osmotic pressure
generally give much more accurate molar
mass values than those from freezing-point
    or boiling-point changes.

I would have only thought it depended on the accuracy of the measuring devices (thermocouple>thermometer)

Is there a reason behind this claim? Maybe something about the model better correlates with pressure than it does temperature?
