In summary, the conversation discusses the existence of the Proctor Valley Monster and another creature near San Diego. The article mentioned describes an interview with a San Diego Sheriff's Sergeant about a series of incidents related to the monster. There is also mention of another Bigfoot activity in Dead Man's Hole, despite the area being an unlikely environment for such creatures. The Native Americans also have their own Bigfoot lore in the area.

When sheriff's deputies helped her from the car the next day, she saw that the scratching on the roof had been her boyfriend's fingernails – his arms dangling from a body torn and bloody and hanging upside down from a tree, the victim of a bestial attack. More specifically, the victim of the Proctor Valley Monster.

Ivan,

The Proctor Valley Monster is not
the only such critter hereabouts.

Go to this link and read about
another, who, for reasons that
should become obvious, is near
and dear to me:

There's another story too, about
the monster of Dead Man's Hole
which is an old watering hole for
Stagecoaches in East San Dego
County.

I was surprised to learn there was
so much Bigfoot activity here
because it is the opposite of the
classic Bigfoot environment.

Here, too, the Native Americans
have their Bigfoot lore.

1. What exactly is the "monster legend" in South County?

The "monster legend" in South County refers to a local urban legend about a mythical creature that is said to roam the area. The specifics of the legend may vary, but it typically involves a large, dangerous creature that is believed to be real by some members of the community.

2. Is there any evidence to support the existence of this monster?

No, there is no scientific evidence to support the existence of this monster. The legend is likely based on rumors and folklore, rather than any concrete evidence.

3. Why do people continue to believe in this monster despite the lack of evidence?

Belief in this monster may stem from a combination of fear, fascination, and a desire for mystery and excitement. Urban legends and folklore often persist in communities because they are passed down through generations and become ingrained in local culture.

4. Has anyone ever reported a sighting or encounter with the monster?

There have been occasional reports of sightings or encounters with the monster, but these are largely anecdotal and have not been substantiated by any scientific evidence. It is possible that these reports are simply hoaxes or misidentifications of known animals.

5. Is there any danger to the community from this supposed monster?

No, there is no evidence to suggest that the monster poses any danger to the community. It is likely just a fictional creature that has become part of local lore and does not actually exist.
