MRR for material

  1. Nov 11, 2013 #1
    hi guys,
which one of those material you think it should give highest material removal rate by using die sinking EDM.

the tool is copper and workpiece are
    1. copper
    2. stainless steel
    3. aluminum

lets assume the same input parameters will be used for those three material

    thank you

    Welcome to the PF.

What do you think is the right answer and why?

    Thanks.
my answer is that the highest MRR should be achieved from Aluminum then copper then the stainless steel the reason for this is that Aluminum has the lowest melting point compared with others
And regarding the TWR i think when we machine copper we get the lowest TWR because the electrical resistivity for copper is the least one.
just want to make sure my answer is correct or not?
