The Mythology, Legends, and Mysticism Napster

    Ladies and gentlemen,
So as to complete our Napster library selections, we offer a Napster for myths, legends, mysticism, astrology, and subjects deemed as pseudoscience.

Although some references may unavoidably cross over into UFO links, please keep this Napster void of UFO information to the greatest extent possible.

As with all Napsters, please post only quotes, links, and specific references. A brief caption is fine but all arguments and discussions should be continued as a regular thread.

You should feel free to post what you believe are good links and references for subjects that are important or interesting to you.

It seems that I have created some confusion here. I have posted links to sources like the Quran and the Bible within the context of more general subject matter such as aliens, gnomes, and ghosts. I see these sources as valid historical sources for consideration, not to say that they qualify as accurate sources, but posts that promote specific religious beliefs are not allowed. Sorry for the confusion; it is sometimes a fine line to walk.

    Dowsing

Although many scientists claim that proof of dowsing exists, I am not convinced that this evidence meets the standards required to be accepted as genuine by the scientific community. For this reason I am posting here rather than in the Credible Anomalies thread. Personally, I think dowsing does work for some, at times, but this is based on my own perceptions and observations, and not scientific evidence. I believe that my dad and uncle have both done this many times, but since there were no controls I can't trust that my opinion is correct. I know that they believe it works. In fact, my dad was shocked when I told him that this is not generally accepted as credible. As a retired engineer who has little to no interest in fringe subjects, he was quite bothered by this. He never knew. Finally he shrugged and said something like, oh well, I know it works.
