How do natural frequency sensors measure solid and vessel frequency?

In summary, a natural frequency sensor is a type of sensor that measures the unique frequency at which an object or system naturally vibrates. It typically consists of a probe or transducer that detects and converts vibrations into an electrical signal for analysis and display. These sensors have a wide range of applications, including structural health monitoring and earthquake detection, and offer high accuracy and real-time monitoring. However, they may have limitations in measuring high-frequency vibrations and can be affected by external factors, requiring calibration and maintenance for accurate measurements over time.

Thanks for reply !
actually there is any liquid in tank..when liquid level rises or falls, natural frequency of that tank changes..i wana know devices to sense these changes !

How are you going to excite the vibration of the tank?

  • #5
because liquid level is changing in a vessel.

What is a natural frequency sensor?

A natural frequency sensor is a type of sensor that measures the frequency at which an object or system naturally vibrates. This frequency is unique to each object or system and can be used to detect changes or abnormalities in its behavior.

How does a natural frequency sensor work?

A natural frequency sensor typically consists of a probe or transducer that is attached to the object or system being measured. The probe detects the vibrations and converts them into an electrical signal, which is then analyzed and displayed by the sensor.

What are the applications of natural frequency sensors?

Natural frequency sensors have a wide range of applications, including structural health monitoring, earthquake detection, and industrial machinery monitoring. They are also used in the automotive and aerospace industries to detect changes in the performance of vehicles and aircraft.

What are the advantages of using natural frequency sensors?

One of the main advantages of natural frequency sensors is their high accuracy, as they can detect even small changes in the natural frequency of an object or system. They are also non-intrusive and can be used in real-time, making them ideal for monitoring critical systems or structures.

Are there any limitations to using natural frequency sensors?

While natural frequency sensors have many advantages, they also have some limitations. They may not be suitable for measuring high-frequency vibrations, and their accuracy can be affected by external factors such as temperature and humidity. Additionally, they may require calibration and maintenance to ensure accurate measurements over time.
