Yes, you can include a picture in a comment by using the "URL" field. Simply paste the URL into that field and hit "enter." If the picture is large, you may want to use the "thumbnail" field instead.

Neat way to "Comment" your Posts

When posting, sometimes you may want to leave a message to yourself for future reference, or to serve as a reminder to add something in the future. This is especially true with posts that have a lifetime of years, as some do here on PF.

To do this:

"type left bracket [" URL="comments go here"][/URL "type right bracket ]"

Copy it as exactly as outlined in blue above.

The trick is to remove the "html name" before the second set of brackets, see example above.

Then, using, View, Page Source from your browser, simply go into that page, source, then under. edit, find, type in "][/URL to locate all your comments.

Enjoy...

You may also enjoy the "noparse" BBcode for explaining ideas like this.

For example I can attach a comment here in the way you suggest, by typing [noparse]BBcode ideas[/noparse]

If you want do know how I wrote that line above, I simply entered [noparse][noparse]BBcode ideas[/noparse][noparse][/noparse[/noparse]]

Try starting a reply to my post to see how I did that.

I always used the bbcode tag:
code
/code

what the difference between code and noparse?

The code tags retain all text formatting and outputs text with a uniform width for all characters. They're good for making el cheapo tables (not talking about plastic furniture).

See the difference:

iiiiiiiwwwwwwwlllllllmmmmmmm

vs

Code:
iiiiiiiwwwwwwwlllllllmmmmmmm

Thanks for the comments, good to know multiple ways of adding comments.

I have a question, is it possible to include a picture (other than a uTube video) that when you click on it will link to a URL ?
I have an idea for a post, but it won't work properly unless that is possible.
I have tried a number of things to make this happen, but without success.
