New Baby!

I got a new pup! A black Lab mix, who was mistreated, and nearly starved to death. But after a week at the hospital, and a special diet..she came home today!

We've named her Baby, from the movie Dirty Dancing. "Nobody puts Baby in the corner".

Oooo what a cutie! Both of those dogs are adorable! How did you find out about this dog , was there an ad up looking for a good home for it or something? How old is she? She looks like a real sweetie. I don't know how people can do such awful things to animals

Congratulations! Shes beautiful. I don't know how anyone could mistreat something when it can look at you like that, but I'm glad shes found a good home.

She is gorgeous! Any idea how old she is? Still a puppy-ish age, or an older dog? I'm glad she's found a good home with you.

My husband found her after someone dumped her by the side of road while he was hunting. He took her to the local vet, in a small city near his hunt camp. All her tests came back clear, and a special diet put on 10 lbs in a weeks time. She still needs to gain about 15 more to be healthy for her size. We also half to gently work up her muscles. She about 1 yr old.
I was realy worried about how the cats and her would get along, but so far so good.
Thanks for all the great wishes, passing along the kisses too {yish}...Labs are kinda juicy dogs

I found a tiny black lab puppy in a gutter many years ago, looked like he'd been thrown out of a car. We named him Lummox after Heinlein's Star Beast and he became my dad's best friend before my dad died.

She' a beautiful girl. Congrats Hypatia, but I agree with MIH: Your shoes are history!

The last time that we got new dogs, the indoor-outdoor carpet on the front porch was removed almost instantly. I couldn't have asked for a more complete job of it either!

Only if she loves you. But if she loves you and has no other outlet, your shoes are toast.

What does it mean when they pee in your shoes?

Excellent great looking pooch, much better than a cat.

It means the shoes are warm and comfortable - well, they were until . . .

Having a big dog {with a tail}around again is going to take some getting use to. I half to clear everthing in the "wag" zone.
I'm gonna go buy shoe storage containers today, thanks for the reminder.

And laughing at the "wag zone." It sure does force you to keep a tidy home...no piling up magazines on the coffee table, or leaving dishes out on the counter tops.
