Newtons Second Law

  1. Jan 20, 2010 #1
    15. Newton’s second law of motion states that
    A. the acceleration of an object is a ratio of the net force over its mass
    B. forces always act in pairs
    C. for every action there is an equal but opposite reaction
    D. the inertia of an object is inversely proportional to the object’s mass
(for this I supposed that that the equation f=ma for newtons second law could be expressed as a=f/m)

    Is this the correct Answer

Your supposition that the formula can be rearranged like that is correct (of course it can!).

You have the right answer. This is quite obvious -- you could have easily eliminated the other answer choices, because B and C pertain to Newton's Third law, and D is just simply wrong.
