NJIT vs. Rutgers-Newbrunswick

  1. Jun 5, 2012 #1
Hey guys, I'm in a dilemma of which school to choose.

Rutgers, which has a 49th national ranking for engineering, or NJIT, which has as a 138th ranking in engineering.

I would totally go to Rutgers other than for 2 main reasons:

NJIT is a 5min drive while Rutgers is 45min.

NJIT is smaller therefore easier to get to classes, while at Rutgers you may need the shuttle from time to time.

Now, Rutgers also has better professors, BUT their classes are much bigger. Probable has 4 times as many students in each class.

Most complaints about NJIT professors is that most of their professors are foreign born and their accents make it really hard to understand them.

Rutgers also has more and better extra-curricular activities.

I am not worried about the social life aspect since I barely have time to hang out with existing friends. I am focused on studying and being an outstanding engineer.

I am majoring in electrical engineering btw.

    Let me know your thoughts..thanks
