Nonlinear load

    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data

Would a switched reluctance motor be described as a non linear load?

Since it is switched on and off rapidly to turn the rotor, does that make it non linear?

To determine if a relationship between two variables is linear you first have to know what two variables you are interested in.

A switched reluctance motor is a type of stepper motor so are you interested in the relationship between the number of pulses applied and the output position? Perhaps compare and contrast a switched reluctance motor with an induction motor.
