Osmosis vs diffusion

  1. Sep 8, 2015 #1
    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data

What is the difference between diffusion and osmosis?

    2. Relevant equations
    3. The attempt at a solution

I am guessing that diffusion means that particles spread out. And osmosis is when particles spred out in a cell membrane.

Osmosis can be "diffusional" but diffusion can't be osmosisal?
