P= 34730 + 200 000 sin x

  1. May 8, 2006 #1
    My batteries of my calculator playing up I cannot draw the following graph:

    P= 34730 + 200 000 sin x

    Could someone please use a graph package to draw it and possibly attach it so I can have a look at it please :-)

    I need to view P against x.

    Thanks ever so much!

    Don't bother to draw it.
    Instead, visualize for yourself how it ought to look.

    Or you could simply hand sketch it yourself using simple graphical tranformations....:tongue2:

    I guess you know haow the sinx graph looks like. Now elongate it vertically 200000 times and move it 34730 units up the vertical (P) axes.

    x on horizontal axis

    and P on the vertical axis right?

    Yep, that's right. In mathematical terms the transformation would be a vertical stretch, scale factor 200 000 and a translation of vector [tex]\left( \stackrel{0}{34730} \right)[/tex].
