given the heat equation [tex]\frac{\partial u}{\partial x}=\frac{\partial^2 u}{\partial x^2}[/tex](adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

what does [itex]\frac{\partial^2 u}{\partial x^2}[/itex] represent on a practical, physical level? im confused because this is not time-space acceleration, but rather a temperature-spacial derivative.

thanks all!
