Personal study.

  1. Dec 21, 2009 #1
Hey all, I had applied to graduate school during my last year in university and didn't get accepted. I want to continue studying on my own, but I'm not sure of the best way to go about it. My interests are in fast reactor physics, material science (I'd like to learn more about metallic fuels), and chemistry of the primary loop. I no longer have the benefits of being able to read the big journal publications for free since I'm not enrolled and I haven't heard of many texts dealing with these subjects.

Also, I'm working in a more electrical engineering/computer science field, so can I do anything to give myself a better chance when I reapply to a nuclear engineering program? I finally was able to renew my ANS memberships, but I'm not sure how to get more involved.

Edit: If this should go into the academic guidance forum, sorry about that.
