What's goin on? What will be gone?
We have periodic upgrades here. The most impact to members will be if you have journals. If you want to keep them, you should save them to your harddrive.
All those poor fanatics with 6-7,000 posts are back at square one.
I can finally catch up to Russ! (If you counted the TKC thread, I probably passed him a while ago.)
Oh, wait, but I worked so hard to finally get past 2000!
I've got my journal backed up...it was surprisingly easy to just drag the little mousey over the whole page and copy everything in one fell swoop (when I re-post the contents, though, it's going to be one LONG journal entry unless I'm particularly bored that day and feel like taking the time to recreate each individual entry. :uhh:)
So do we have to register again? What exactly is happening? I thought it was just some upgrade that would not affect anything but the journal entries.
I could be wrong. The March 2003 update required everyone to re-register, but a vBulletin upgrade does not necessitate this.
I can't believe I ever noticed that nobody's join date was like 1999 or anything!
I don't think this one will be so drastic, just an updated new look on our side, and a lot of behind the scenes stuff. There's already a thread started in Feedback where Greg is answering questions about the upgrade.
No one has to re-register, post count will not be lost AFAIK, it's more along the lines of the last upgrade we had, some people didn't even notice it.
In reading some of the changes Greg shared with the mentors, it sounds like there might be some cool enhancements for the contributors, if I read it correctly, but just incase, my lips are sealed. :uhh:
Was that the one when the funky green buttons showed up?
