Phenylamine ammonia basicity

    propylamine ammonia basicity

    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data

    suggest which one of ammonia or propyl amine is more basic.

    2. Relevant equations



    3. The attempt at a solution

    i know that a base is a proton acceptor. i am trying to figure out which one of them would accept a proton more readily.

    ok, nevermind it's been solved. it is because of the alkyl group attached to nitrogen in propyl amine, making it have a greater electron density to accept a proton.
