Physicist to Mathematician

I'm just in high school but I was curious as to how many physicists may conduct math research or switch professions like this altogether.

If you do Theoretical Physics or Mathematical Physics, there is a better chance of switching to math research in the future.

I am a PhD physicist who served on the Math faculty of the Air Force Academy, and there are a lot of schools that will hire Physics PhDs to teach in their Math departments.

Getting jobs at R1 universities and getting funded for research in math is much harder.
