Physics 2 - Potential of a charged ring

    I've encountered a question involving a charged ring charged with a total charge of Q.
    What is the work needed to bring an object charged with small q to the center of the ring from the distance x (which is on the x axis ofcourse).
    R, Q and x are given.


    I also know that the work needed is given by the formula that I wrote on the bottom of the image above.
    Yet I don't know which is which, is the center of the ring Potential(A) or B? plus can I assume that the potential right in the center of the ring is equal to 0?
