Please help! how can we reduce residual entropy

  1. Nov 12, 2012 #1
    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data

the problem that i was give as homework, is the question "how do we reduce residual entropy experimentally?"

    2. Relevant equations

the residual entropy occurs when the calculated molar entropy is greater than measured value, thus S bar calc - S bar exp = residual entropy.

    3. The attempt at a solution

the calculated value is always the more accurate one, and residual entropy occurs for molecules with small dipole moment, as I learned...so...are there means to increase their dipole moment? i dunno...
