Polar axis?

  1. Sep 26, 2006 #1
What is the significance of the polar axis?

What would it mean if someone said 'Take the z axis (in 3D cartesian coords) as the polar axis?'

I found out what it meant. The polar axis is where angles are measured with respect to.
