Hi,

I have been studying 3-phase systems recently and while going through my textbooks I realized that there are some things which are not quite clear. So I'm going to give it a shot and ask here.

1. Does a 3-phase synchronous generator always supply the same line currents and phase voltages independent of the load?

2. What happens to the return current (the current through the neutral back to the generator) when the generator is connected to an unbalanced load?

3. If instead of having a neutral (i.e. the generator is a 3-wire system instead of a 4-wire system) the load is grounded, will this serve the same purpose as the neutral?

This is all I have in mind for now, thanks in advance!
