Pop Sci book on Ising models/Spin Glasses/Neural networks

  1. Dec 23, 2007 #1

I'm looking for a book that will at least cover Ising models, and/or neural networks, and/or spin glasses, and some of their applications on a popular science level. Are there any issues of scientific american, etc. that would be good, or any books that would cover this material in a way that makes it so that a great deal of people can understand?

For an example of the type of material I am looking for (except I am looking for something that's elaborated upon more - not necessarily more in deep), see this link: http://saeta.physics.hmc.edu/courses/p117/Project/1998/Memory/theory.html [Broken]
