In summary, the conversation is about the product of a reaction and the conditions that may lead to different outcomes. The speaker initially thought the reaction would result in a Cannizzaro Reaction, but was instructed otherwise by a book. They then made a product and requested verification from experts in the topic. Another person also provides some helpful information about the anthraquinone process.

Question
Find out the product of the following reaction

Initially I thought that the conditions are favourable for Cannizzaro Reaction, but I was instructed (by the book) that it would not give that reaction.
I guessed and made a product and request verification from the experts in this topic.

Thanking You.

First: I don't know the answer. I'm just providing a bit more info. O-chem is really not my thing, but the production of H2O2 is something I had reason to read up on recently. Have a look at the anthraquinone process at Wikipedia. It may confirm your hypothesis or give you another place to look, at least.

Good luck

1. What is a reaction product?

A reaction product is the substance formed when two or more reactants undergo a chemical reaction. It is the result of the rearrangement of atoms and bonds between the reactants, and can have different physical and chemical properties than the original substances.

2. How is a reaction product identified and verified?

A reaction product is identified and verified through various techniques such as spectroscopy, chromatography, and mass spectrometry. These techniques allow scientists to analyze the chemical composition and structure of the reaction product and compare it to known substances to confirm its identity.

3. Why is it important to get expert verification for a reaction product?

Expert verification is crucial for a reaction product because it ensures the accuracy and reliability of the results. By having a trained and experienced scientist verify the product, potential errors or discrepancies can be identified and corrected, leading to more accurate conclusions and a better understanding of the reaction.

4. How does the verification of a reaction product contribute to scientific knowledge?

The verification of a reaction product helps to expand scientific knowledge by providing evidence and data that can be used to support or refute hypotheses and theories. It also allows for the discovery of new compounds and substances, furthering our understanding of chemical reactions and their applications.

5. Can a reaction product be verified without expert assistance?

In some cases, a reaction product can be verified without expert assistance through simple tests and observations. However, for complex reactions and products, expert verification is necessary to ensure accuracy and validity. Additionally, expert verification provides a deeper understanding of the reaction and its implications, which can contribute to further scientific advancements.
