Power Problem

  1. Sep 21, 2007 #1
    A hydroelectric dam has 1.21 x 10^5 W of power available.

Suppose the efficiency of the plant is 0.75 (i.e., 75% of the ideal power can be realized) and the price of electricity is 10 cents per kilowatt hour. Calculate the value of energy generated in one year, in dollars.

    (1kWh = 3.6 x 10^6 J)

How much energy is delivered by the plant in 1 year?
