Projectile Homework Question!

    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
    A backpacker throws a rock horizontally off of a cliff with an initial velocity of 11.7 m/s, and the rock lands 17.3 m away from the base of the cliff. What is the final vertical velocity of the rock? Round your answer to 2 decimal places.

    Δd = vot + 1/2at2

    vf = vo + at

    vf^2 = vo^2 + 2aΔd

    3. The attempt at a solution
    18.9 m/s

    You need to show how you got that 18.9 m/s answer. Hint you can find the time of flight easily.
