I'm researching psychology for my graduation project and I need a bit of help. I'm trying to pinpoint exactly who the first psychologist was, if possible, and one site's timeline has Plato at the top. "Plato suggested that the brain is the mechanism of mental processes." -- 387 BC I'm not sure if that makes him the first though...what all did he do? Would it be safer to delve deeper into someone else's history? I'm trying to go as far back as possible but I don't want to go so far that I'm researching someone who did little to further a field that didn't really exist yet. As I've been forced to switch topics at the last moment, I'd appreciate any sites/information people could give me. I find this topic to be rather interesting, thus my choosing it, but I have little experience with it.
