Quantum Magnetism

  1. Okay, I understand the classical theory of magnetism, and I basically understand quantum electrodynamics - except magnetism. Is there any particular special way that quantum electrodynamics describes magnetism, other than that it obviously is a probability distribution rather than a classical field? Or would it more or less just be the classical theory, but treating photons and electrons as QED objects?
