I must start by saying I have very limited knowledge of quantum physics. I have only just started to delve into what it’s all about. My question is how often are the various quantum physics put to practical use, such as in engineering? What I understand of quantum is that its real achievement is being able to explain so many phenomena because it does so at a fundamental level. However it seems like it would be quite impractical to use it in place of classical for most engineering purposes (more complication for not much more accuracy). Perhaps because I’m so new to it I’m speaking too soon. What do you think?
