Question about banning

  1. Jan 20, 2009 #1
I noticed a dude on here, and his name had a slash through it. And he stopped posting for a while. Does that mean that he was banned? And if so, how do you get unbanned? Cause the dude is back, with the same account.

There are temporary bans (time outs), which expire, and there are permanent bans, which off course do not expire.

But do you guys have like months long bans? Cause the dude was gone for quite a while. I figured banning would be either like a few days or for ever.

The length of a temporary ban may be set to any required time period. However, bans longer than a few weeks are rare.
