How do you get to study abroad , say if your attending a 4 year college in the United States? Is it more or less expensive that say studying within the country ?

Exchange programs are often a complete ripoff i.e. you pay your normal tuition for your own school, but study abroad. Meaning you might end up paying more than $30000 a year for studying in a country where tuition is around $5000 or even completely free... You pretty much pay for getting your courses counted towards your degree at your own institution...

It depends on the school. For example, at my school out-of-state students pay in-state tuition when they study abroad, so it is a very good deal.
