Homework Help: Quick derivative check

  1. Dec 3, 2007 #1
    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
    I want to work out the derivative of xcos(log(x))

    2. Relevant equations

    3. The attempt at a solution

    By using the product rule: and the chain rule;

    cos(logx) - xsin(logx).1/x = cos(log(x)) - sin(log(x))

    Is this right?
