Oh, yeah! Leader of the Band, Run for the Roses, Same Old Lang Syne, Rhythm Of The Rain...the list is long and everybody will have their own favorites. Once I read a comment from someone about my age commenting on the concept that head-banger music could turn kids into lawless thugs, and he said something like "yeah and Fogelberg turned me into a wuss."

His BEST song is Gypsy Wind. I still have my Phoenix album.

    I still recall the place
When I first felt your gypsy wind
    Playing on my face
    That summer's long since gone
But gypsy winds have ways of staying on.

    Voices from our past
    Still insist on arguing
    That love will never last
And though our hearts may turn
    It's only when you listen
    That you learn.

And I wonder at the ways
    The strands of love meander
Through our close and distant days
    The blood of passion plays
    Burns our thirsty souls
    And chases reason far away...
    Far away...

    And still your gypsy wind
Will soothe my soul and call me
    Back again.

    Growing wise with age
We come to see the printing
Through the pictures on the page
    Though something's always lost
The gain is always tempered by the cost.

And I wonder at the ways
    The strands of love meander
Through our close and distant days
    The blood of passion plays
    Burns our thirsty souls
    And chases reason far away...
    Far away...
    And still your gypsy wind
Will soothe my soul and call me back again.

There is a pretty good selection at YouTube, but I didn't see Gypsy Wind

    Rhythm Of The Rain

Leader of the Band [one of my absolute favorites]

A couple of my personal favorites are "Hard to Say" and "The Reach" though they didn't get popular enough to get any airplay, at least not here.

I'm of an age with Dan, and he was a favorite of mine. I have played blues and rock since the 60's, but when I wanted to mellow out in the 70's/80's, his music was great. Not as tight as Loggins and Messina, usually, but more laid-back and introspective. BTW, for anybody who hasn't heard the Loggins and Messina double-album live compilation "Finale", it is the best live album every recorded until that time. The production values are incredible, the chemistry is hot, and the result is memorable. I have not looked for a CD version, because the album gives me a great excuse to fire up my turntable, listen, and melt.

:frown: Saw him live at The Fox in Detroit 15+ years ago. Great show. Brings back memories of those days.
