Homework Help: Ratio Test

  1. May 6, 2008 #1
    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data

    Use the ratio test to determine convergence or divergence of 100n/2^n

    2. Relevant equations

    p= lim┬(n→∞)[a_(n+1)/a_n]

    p<1 ,convergent
    p>1 ,divergent
    p=1 ,ratio test fails

    3. The attempt at a solution

    I'm not even sure if i'm doing this right, but i get:

    and I don't know how to proceed from there

    [tex]\lim_{n->inf} |\frac{100(n+1)}{2^{n+1}}*\frac{2^n}{100n}| [/tex]

    You can cancel stuff, then evaluate the limit.
