Really Need Help

  1. Nov 29, 2005 #1
    1) Describe and explain the double slit arrangement which you would set up in order to produce and observe Youngs interference fringes using monochromatic light?
    2) Suggest approximate values for the slit separation and the distance form the slits to the screen?
    3) Describe 2 features of the interfernece fringes?
4)State the measurements you would make in order to determine the wavelenght of light used?

    ANY CONTRIBUTION WOULD HELP !

    THANKS

I WAS AWAY FOR THE LESSON WHEN THEY DID THE YOUNG'S STUFF!

with the 1st q wld u do the diagram
with the 2nd q how do u know the values or do u just use a constant value
with the 3rd q the light that has been contructivly interfered with be bright and the dark patches will be dark (is that right)??
with the 4th q do u use Fringe separation/ Wavelength = Distance to screen / SLit separation
