Recombinant Frequency Help

  1. Feb 20, 2010 #1
in my book, it says that any number of crossovers will produce 50% recombinants yet this is never seen in any of the experiments?

What's the difference between something is double recombinant vs. single recombinant? 2 chisamata?

Why is the expected number of double recombinants lower than single recombinants?

To clarify, interference only explains why the observed number of recombinants are lower than expected?

Why are the double recombinants added twice to get the correct value for RF/distance between the genes?

    Thank you so much
