Homework Help: Reflection refraction

  1. Feb 17, 2010 #1
    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data

Is it possible to move an object and a lens in such a way that the image is virtual?

    3. The attempt at a solution

Well I could use a convex lens, and shine a light into it, then something would happen. The light would be angled up or angled down (depending on the position of the convex lens and the light beam).

If that is possible how would we relate where the object is with respect to the focal length of the lens?

    3. The attempt at a solution

Will the The diopter rating have any relevance to my problem?

Diopter rating is D = 1/f, where f is the focal length measured in meters
