Remembering during sleep

  1. Jan 29, 2006 #1
The oddest thing happens to me. While this is not always the case, it has happened numerous times to make me believe that this may not be a simple coincident. If I am awaken in the middle of the night, I sometimes will not be able to recall it at all. For example, I can get a phone call and then talk to the person the next morning and they will tell me about a conversation I had with them and I don't remember a thing of it and it sometimes doesn't even feel familiar as if it strikes a bell. Usually when I talk I am aware, my conversations aren't incoherent babble, although a couple of times I was talking coherently and then started to babble (according to those i've talked to). Does anyone know why this happens?
