RF and microwaves S matrix for scattering waves in 2d

  1. Apr 14, 2013 #1
    RF and microwaves
    i need to make a matlab program that simulate a cylinder on a 2d space with em waves that hit the cylinder
    how can i proof this formula?
    and what is the T matrix?

    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
    the relation between the S matrix and the T matrix is given by:
    S=I+2T
    S is the scattering matrix

    b=T*a
    as b and a are the vectors of the harmonic waves
    a for the hitting wave and b is for the scatterd wave

    more known formulas

    2. Relevant equations
    how can i proof this formula?
    and what is the T matrix?
    S=I+2T

    3. The attempt at a solution
    searching for houres on the internet and still nothing
