S-parameters for 2-port, 1-port

  1. Jul 28, 2010 #1
Lets say I can measure all s-parameters for all networks in my cascade and my goal is to get the s11 parameter of the cascade.

I have no problem, for example, cascading two 2-port networks (convert to t-params, multiply, convert back) and obtaining the s11 and then VSWR. I am confused as to how this is possible to do with a 2-port => 1-port (like an antenna) cascade because there is no t-params for a 1-port as far as I know. How can I do a similar calculation to get s11 for this network?

Note: I specifically want to calculate the s11 of the cascade and not just measure it.

EDIT: fixed terminology (I think :)
