In summary, UMGC offers various Information Assurance and Cybersecurity Certificate Programs. The admission requirements for their non-degree programs are less strict than for degree programs. To apply, one must submit an application and transcripts, but other factors such as work experience or a personal statement may also be considered if grades are not up to par. It is advised to include a personal statement explaining any extenuating circumstances that may have affected academic performance.

I want to know if anyone knows a little about this school, mainly about the computer engineering graduate program. I've applied to the information assurance certificate and plan to transfer to a Master's degree program later on.

How difficult is it to get into the certificate program? They don't seem to specify exact requirements and they don't even need my GRE scores or any recommendations or even a personal statement. My grades aren't that stellar and a personal statement would of been a perfect opportunity for me to explain the cause of my low gpa and what happened to me in my sophomore/junior year.

Would they accept my application with only my transcripts? The University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) offers a range of Information Assurance and Cybersecurity Certificate Programs. Generally, admission requirements for non-degree programs are less stringent than those for degree programs. To be accepted into the non-degree program, you will need to submit an application and your transcripts. The admissions office will review and evaluate your transcripts along with any other documents you provide. If your grades are not up to the expectations for admission, the admissions office may consider other criteria such as work experience or a personal statement. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you submit a personal statement outlining any extenuating circumstances that contributed to your academic performance.
