Saturation Spectroscopy help

  1. May 21, 2009 #1
Hello everybody, my first post here.

I am working on a simple Cesium Saturation spectroscopy experiment (852nm D2 line). I can see the hyperfine and crossover lines very clearly and my question is, how can I tell if it is the F=4 or F=3 ground state that is involved? Measuring the spacing between the features from an Oscilloscope screen does not conclusively tell me either way? Is there a quick way to tell?

A sample picture (ramp not shown but has a negative slope, bottom left is 0,0):
