The answer really depends on how much handwavium you want to include, If you want to keep it as strictly close to what we can theorise now and want interstellar colonies you are going to have to posit huge (i.e. planet cracking) amounts of antimatter. If you're willing to lower the ratio of Science:Fiction you could posit that this future civilisation can much around with gravity creating local slopes of gravity that their ship just falls down.
