Simple kinematic problem

  1. Sep 11, 2009 #1
    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data

    Baseball is throwing upwards with initial velocity as 12m/s. Total time it took to reach ground is 2.53 seconds. Find the initial height where baseball was thrown.

    2. Relevant equations

    3. The attempt at a solution

    Find d

    t=2.53
    Vo=12

    0=d+Vo*t-4.9t^2
    0=d+12*2.53-4.9t^2
    d=4.9*2.53^2-12*2.53
    d=1.00

    is this right?

    What if the ball was launched at angle, lets say 30 degrees?
