Smart pulley

    How does a smart pulley work?

    It's probably attached to some sort of encoder. For example, there are slots in some part of the pulley, and two light gates that can be used to identify the direction and number of slots that the pulley has moved in. They're similar to ballmouse internals, but with much poorer resolution.
