In summary, There are many different types of smilies that can be made without using emoticons, including happy, sad, big, winky, and even specific characters like Marge Simpson or Abe Lincoln. Some other creative smilies include a Frankenstein, stoned, and Princess Leia. Other options include a devil, angel, and even a deranged and enraged Elvis Presley. Overall, there are endless possibilities for creating unique and expressive smilies.

Smilies :)

We did this little exercise at PF v2.0. How many different smilies can you make, without using emoticons?

:) Happy smiley
:( Not-so-happy smiley

Some of the ones I came up with:

o:-) Angel (I don't usually give my angels noses, but the version without IS the smiley code here).

:-S I think I just ate a bug. (Also works for: That's kind of gross, but I'm trying to keep from laughing because I know I shouldn't.)

8-/ Rolls eyes

P.S. I just have to point out that this forum has the guiltiest angel smiley ever! That angel is never as innocent as he looks!
