Starting with desire!

  1. Apr 12, 2013 #1
I'm currently a freshmen in college that would like to hear opinions and receive advice on the subject of obtaining a internship with a engineering firm. My school offers CAD certification but I'm not sure how this will benefit me directly to getting a engineering internship. I have heard various stories of freshmen getting internships unpaid, eventually leading to being paid and covering college tuition. If this is a possible route how can I ensure that I will be successful. As of now my knowledge of engineering is slim, but I do have a real desire to become a engineer. I know starting early in a career can only be beneficial.

    Thank You
