Homework Help: Statistical Physics

    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
    For an ideal gas PV = nRT, n is the number of moles. Show that the heat transfer in an infinitesimal quasistatic process of an ideal gas can be written as:
    dQ = 1/nR ( C_v * V * dP + C_p * p * dV)


    2. Relevant equations
    First law of thermodynamics: dQ = dE + pdv
    (dE / dT)_P,V = C_P,V
    Ideal gas PV = nRT


    3. The attempt at a solution
    I have tried back and forth with these equations but does not get closer..
