Homework Help: Strain to stress rosette calculations

  1. Nov 17, 2009 #1
in the following questions- 4.17 and 4.18 - regarding stress-strain rosettes, can anyone see where i have gone wrong in my calculations, i think that there must be something i have not seen here(probably in my algebra) unless the books answer is incorrect which i doubt

the answers i get are VERY similar to the books except for the denominators of the first term which i get (1+v)(1-2v) and in the answers the book has (1-v)
