The American Family: A Thank You Story

A couple of days ago i drew up a few maps for this family that had found themselves lost out side my house, they told me they had spent a week in Stratford on Avon and were just touring around looking for places of interest, any way i told them of six or seven places and drew them the maps.
You know what, i had a knock on the door and there they were again, only this time they bought me a huge bottle of whiskey as a thank you, they were bubbling over about the places i told them about, i am still gob smacked, is this a common trait of the Americans.

Noth'en says thanks like a bottle of whiskey. While I normally do my thank yous with pastries, I'm considering switching now.
