The FCT revisited

    An article in Scientific American, Jan 2003, contained a diagram by Hud Hudson, West Washington U. that supposedly was a counterexample for the four color theorem. Others and myself had concluded it was not.
    The 'counterexample' and the complexity of the Appel and Haken proof motivated me to do my own study. It's has minimal math, and approaches the problem from an entirely different direction. It's intended for the curious reader who does not have the time or inclination to study abstract math concepts. I post it here for review by anyone interested.
